[User Guide] How to Turn Off Auto-Correction on iPhone X/8/7/6

Actually, it is very easy to turn off autocorrect feature on iPhone/iPad with iOS 11/10/9, including iPhone 8/8 Plus/X/7 Plus/7/6/6 Plus/5S/5C/5, iPad Pro/Air/mini, iPad with Retina display, The new iPad, iPad 2/1 and etc.

Here's how:

Step 1. On your iPhone or iPad, please launch Settings app from Home screen.

Step 2. Tap "General" and go to "Keyboard" section.

Step 3. Find "Auto-Correction" option on Keyboards page, and switch it off here.

Now, you have disabled the auto-correction feature on your device and your device will not automatically correct your misspelled words while typing words.

Tips: You are advised to turn on "Check Spelling" option on Keyboards page ("Settings" > "General" > "Keyboard" > "Check Spelling") on your iPhone. With Check Spelling option enabled, your iPhone will show you the misspelled words but it will not automatically change them. So you can decide whether to correct the misspelled words or not. And you can change the misspelled words by yourself or from its suggestions according to your needs.

After disabling the "Auto-Correction" option on iPhone, if you want to restore the autocorrect function on your device, you can also go back to "Auto-Correction" option by going to "Settings" > "General" > "Keyboard"> "Auto-Correction" and turn it on again.
